neZEH participated in UNWTO’s World Conference on Tourism and Future Energy: Unlocking Low-Carbon Growth Opportunities, which took place in Astana, Kazakhstan on 26-27 June 2017.
The Conference was held as part of the celebrations of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development 2017; Technical University of Crete -the neZEH coordinator- supports #IY2017 as a Friend.
This conference aimed to stimulate discussion among industry leaders, entrepreneurs, financiers and policy makers, as well as explored new opportunities and innovative solutions for future energy in the global tourism sector to contribute to low carbon growth.
Professor Theocharis Tsoutsos (TUC) gave a speech about neZEH, as panellist in the first day’s Session “Future energy in the hospitality and accommodation industry”, presenting technical insights and findings from the neZEH initiative, as well as policy issues and challenges faced. neZEH also participated in the second day’s round table discussion “Innovation for Low Carbon Growth: accommodation and transport”, where it was represented by the Technical University of Crete and Sustainable Innovation – Sweden.
